FAQ
What materials do you use?
For models and toys, we use high-quality PLA and Matte PolyTerra for a flawless finish. For functional workshop parts, we use PETG, which offers superior impact resistance and won’t melt if you leave it in a hot car.
How big can you print?
Our maximum single-part build volume is 220 x 220 x 220 mm. If your design is larger than that, we will need to slice it into interlocking parts and assemble it, or you’ll need to scale it down.
Why does my print have tiny lines on it?
That is the reality of Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM). We build objects by stacking microscopic layers of melted plastic. We calibrate our machines to keep these layer lines as minimal as possible, but they are a normal part of the manufacturing process.
Do you paint the models?
No. The colours you see are the actual colours of the plastic filament. For multi-colour items, our printers switch between up to four different spools of plastic during the printing process to build the colour directly into the model.
How do I buy the restricted assemblies?
You don’t. The Oak’s Shadow is not open to the public. Contact us
A quick note on custom requests: > If you are using our Bespoke Design service, please provide as much detail, technical drawing, or reference material as possible. A blurry photo of a broken plastic gear taken in the dark is not a CAD file.
