Terms & Conditions

The Rules of the Forge: By crossing this threshold and exchanging coin for our artifacts, you agree to the following pact. We have kept the legal jargon to an absolute minimum so neither of us has to summon a lawyer.

1. The Nature of the Craft (Manufacturing Expectations) Our artifacts are summoned using Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM). We melt raw polymers and stack them layer by microscopic layer.

  • The Scars of Creation: Visible layer lines, minor surface artifacts, and tiny stringing are inherent to the 3D printing process. They are not defects; they are proof the item was forged by a machine, not injected into a mould in a massive overseas factory.
  • The Alchemy of Colour: The filament colours you see on your glowing screen might look slightly different in the real world due to monitor settings and variations in the raw chemical batches.

2. The Return Rituals (Refunds & Rejections) Under UK law, you have rights, but bespoke manufacturing has strict exceptions.

  • Standard Catalogue Artifacts: For off-the-shelf items (like standard articulated models), you have 14 days from receiving the cargo to change your mind and return it in its original, undamaged condition. You are responsible for the return postage toll.
  • Custom & Print-on-Demand Orders: Once the machines heat up, the pact is sealed. Because these are manufactured specifically to your specifications or from your uploaded blueprints, they cannot be returned or refunded unless there is a critical manufacturing defect on our end. If your CAD file had a fatal structural flaw and we printed exactly what you designed, that failure is yours, not ours.

3. Contraband & Copyright (What We Refuse to Forge) If you use our file upload service, you swear that you have the legal right to reproduce the blueprint.

  • We will not print copyright-infringing material. Do not ask us to print a certain litigious, animated mouse from a massive corporate empire. We will refuse.
  • We will not manufacture weaponry, illegal components, or anything that will invite a government raid on the Forge.
  • If your 3D file is a geometric nightmare that defies the laws of physics and is guaranteed to fail on the build plate, we reserve the right to cancel the order, refund your coin, and save our filament.

4. Mortal Fragility (Safety and Liability) Many of our articulated models and functional prints contain small, intricate parts or can break under heavy physical stress.

  • The Choking Hazard: Unless explicitly stated otherwise, our models are not suitable for small children, pets, or anyone else who has a habit of eating things they shouldn’t. If a part snaps off and is ingested, that is on you.
  • Load-Bearing Plastic: Our functional workshop mounts and brackets are printed in high-strength materials, but they are still plastic. If you violently overload a printed bracket and it drops an expensive power tool onto your foot, Merlin 3D is not liable for the damage to your tools, your toes, or your pride.

5. The Messengers (Shipping and Breakages) We pack our prints heavily so they survive the postal system. However, if a courier decides to use your package as a rugby ball and it arrives shattered, contact us within 48 hours with photographic proof of the ruined box and the broken artifact. We will assess the carnage and forge a replacement.
